In the digital marketing world there’s a saying “The money is in the list”. That is because when you have your own subscriber list you are in control. You’re not totally dependent on social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram to reach your customers.
If any of these platforms close down or they decide to shut you down you still have your list. You can keep sending out RELEVANT messages and promotions to them and a certain percentage of your recipients will act on the emails you send.
One of my clients runs a “Pick Me” contest every Monday on Facebook, where prizes are awarded to people who comment Like, Share and comment “Pick Me” on the FB post. She gets great engagement on these contests.
We implemented a FB Messsenger chatbot, where everyone who comments on her FB post immediately receives a message thanking them for commenting, asking them to subscribe to be the first to be notified of upcoming events and promotions and a link to the calendar for upcoming events.
